On Tuesday, August 28, 2007, the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police presented the 2007 Awards for Valor to nine Virginia officers, with special recognition given to a Virginia Beach PD K-9. 2006-2007 VACP President Chief Mike Yost (Williamsburg PD) presented the awards, assisted by Secretary of Public Safety John Marshall. Also presented was the 2007 VACP President's Award, given to Mr. Lex Eckenrode, CEO of the Virginia Police Chiefs Foundation. The evening concluded with the election and installation of the 2007-2008 VACP Executive Board.
